As a wholly state-owned company established on April, 12th, 2002, Chinese Academy of Sciences Holdings Co., Ltd.("CAS HOLDINGS" for short), was approved by the State Council and invested by CAS on behalf of the P.R.China in compliance with the Company Law of the People's Republic of China. CAS HOLDINGS exercises,on behalf of the CAS, the investors' rights for the state-owned operative assets and undertakes corresponding responsibility for value hedge and increment within the wholly-owned, share holding and joint-stock companies affiliated by CAS.

With registered capital of RMB 5.1 billion, CAS HOLDINGS owns more than 30 existing holding companies, among which 21 are wholly owned and share controlling companies, whose industry structure is mainly concerned with high-tech industries, trade, investment, consulting, property and other service industries. Besides, CAS HOLDINGS assumes CAS Enterprise Party organization Office work.

According to CAS Statutes, CAS HOLDINGS also excises supervision and management over state-owned operative assets for public institutions subject to CAS.
